Baby Headgear

Tonight we decided we're officially in the market. Now that C is a self-perceived expert mover and shaker, he's thrown caution to the wind and is hourly inflicting injury upon himself. Usually he ends up hitting his chin on things (the coffee table, the kitchen step, the bathtub) and bites his tongue. Honestly, in the past week we can count 5 times this has happened (4 involving blood). I'm not sure the whole Twilight craze has caught on w/ toddlers yet, so we're not all that excited about our little guy looking like a vampire. So for now (before all my favorite shirts are covered in Carson's "battle wounds") I'm trying to dream up the ultimate solution.

What do people without dogs do?

As of late, Carson has taken his sass to a new level. He's decided to be picky about the nutritious food so graciously prepared and put before him, mostly refusing offerings from the vegetable group. But even once he's had his fill of various other epicurean delights he now takes his food in is hand, looks at his mother straight in the eyes, and drops his food on the ground. Should more tasty morsels find their way to his plate, he further drives his statement home by throwing the pieces to the ground. Lucky for us we have a living vacuum cleaner named Wrigley who usually catches the food before it hits the floor (he also occasionally catches a sippy cup on the head).
I suppose there's no real harm in this, as no food is really wasted, except the grave realization that Carson is learning that he technically doesn't have to do what mommy says. Ug - that will of his is not going to jive too well with this control-loving mommy.

I did manage to snap a few pictures during this morning's episode.

11 Months

Wow! We are so close to a year, I can taste it!!! I'm going to order C's b-day cake this week, in fact. The little guy is as awesome as ever

Currently likes to sit in things too small for him
Able to get off the couch by himself
Relishes grocery store visits b/c he gets a balloon
Still not walking, but hopefully by his b-day
On a 3 meals-a-day schedule
Now wearing size 5 diapers

... oops, i realize I'm a day early on this post. oh well, it probably won't bother you guys as much as it does me.
